When a consort steps down after their first reign, they are inducted into the Order of the Rose. This is usually done in conjunction with the County ceremony, or as a separate ceremony. Generally, the Roses and Coronaria who are present come forward, where a token of the order is gifted and and welcome the new member they are presented with the rose cloak.
The Rose Cloak
The cloak for the Order of the Rose was commissioned by Duchess Branwen. Its creation was inspired by Duchess Nerissa, who shared stories of a beautiful cloak used within the Kingdom of Drachenwald.
The cloak was designed by Qadiya Lilya and Duchess Asa, with support from Duchess Morwynna and Countess Mathilde. It was made by the hand of Qadiya Lilya with assistance from Duchess Asa.
It is symbolic in its design.
♕ The five clusters of red beads along the collar to represent the five Vicereigns, who’s passion were the seeds in our garden and set the strongest roots for the growth of the Principality.
♕ There are 29 gathered pearls, to represent each Viscountess. Resilient, beautiful and strong, they weathered the ebb and flow to bloom to become the mighty Kingdom that we are.
♕ The 17 Roses are sitting in bloom for Lochac being the 17th Kingdom of the Knowne World.
